Master Batters Up Next

This week we have our second matchup of the season with the Master Batters. Last time we played without Lawrence and this time we'll go without James. I believe Dale and Chiniqua are still unavailable because of injuries and Nancy will likely have to miss the rest of the season because of other commitments.

 In James's absence, I will step in to pitch. In addition, Lawrence and Tanya will shift from the outfield to shortstop and first base respectively. Richie and Marcus will take over the outfield spots vacated by Lawrence and Tanya. To get everyone their at bats, we will make greater use of the EH position. Everyone who is able to play will be in the lineup one way or another. With so many changes, some practice was in order to get acclimated to the new positions.

We had two lightly attended but enthusiastic practices this week. Robin, Tanya, Lawrence, and I met a few of the Mod Squad at Nicholl Park #2 Monday afternoon for several reps in the field and at the plate. Robin and I went out early to get him some extra batting practice and outfield work.

Today it was Tanya, Carlos, Gena, Lawrence, Marcus, The Coach, and myself at Seawright Field. With such a small turnout we were limited in the things we could do but we made the most of it. Everyone pitched in to give Tanya a good workout at first base. Lawrence was able to get in the work he needed at shortstop. I think we should be able to give the Master Batters a good game.
