NEXT TIME, WE'RE GOING TO SACRAMENTO, TO SEE THE TRIPLE AAA
AFFILIATE OF THE A'S, THE SACRAMENTO
RIVERCATS.
WE WILL BE GOING BY TRAIN FROM RICHMOND, THERE'S
LOTS OF SHOPS IN OLD SAC WALKING DISTANCE TO THE
RALEY FIELD.
THE TRAIN RIDE IS VERY NICE.
BUT I KNOW SOME OF YOU ARE ON LOCK DOWN AND HAVE MICHAEL VICK BRACELETS ON AND CAN'T HANG OUT.
JUST LETTING YOU'ALL KNOW.
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!
The Coach and I have gone to River Cats games by train before and it has always been a good experience. The only catch is, it works only for day games. The last train heading back to the Bay Area leaves at 8:50 PM so we'd have to leave well before a night game is over.
ReplyDeleteIn April and May, the River Cats play some weekday games that start at 11:35 AM. Coach and I would catch the Amtrak here in Richmond and take it up to the Sacramento station and enjoy a nice stroll through Old Sacramento State Historical Park and over the Tower Bridge to the ballpark which is just across the Sacramento River.
After the game, we'd stop at one of the restaurants in Old Sac for a postgame lunch before jumping on a train for the trip back home. Joe's Crab Shack overlooks the river and offers a pleasant view of the various watercraft out for a cruise. They also have a couple of Mexican restaurants, a pizza & pasta joint, and several pubs that serve food and offer televised sports.
I'd love to get a trainload of us on board for a River Cats game next spring.
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WANT TO GO OUT TO STOCKTON FOR THE PORTS GAME ON SEPT 5,2009 (SAT).
ReplyDeleteI CAN RENT A VAN AND WE RIDE TOGETHER. MAYBE I MIGHT TAKE YOU TRUCKDRIVERS TO THE GOLDEN CORRAL IN TRACY BEFORE THE GAME
SOME OF YOU WHO ARE ON LOCKDOWN, PLEASE TRY TO WORK ON A WEEKEND PASS.
ReplyDeleteYOU KNOW WHO AM I TALKING ABOUT!!!!!
