Monday's Practice With Mod Squad

I apologize for neglecting the blog of late. Now that I'm almost done setting up the new website, I should soon be able to chime in here regularly again.

We had a long workout with the Mod Squad yesterday, wrapping it up at 7:50. We didn't have a big enough turnout to hold the baserunning clinic we planned for the day so we devoted ourselved to batting practice. I brought the Hurricane so those who wanted some extra BP could take some swings on the sideline.

Of special note, Mandi bravely stayed in front of several hard shots at third base, making some spectacular grabs and bringing me close to cardiac arrest a few times. Also, Marcus ran down fly balls in the outfield as if he were playing the seventh game of the World Series.

It was good to have Dale back on the practice field with us. Circumstances left him unable to work out with us much since the season started but yesterday he was able to shake off the rust and knock some line drives around the yard.

The Mod Squad was well represented, too. Lee warmed up on the Hurricane and once facing live pitching, he hit several deep bombs and hard liners. Richard and Brandon sprayed shots all over the field while Jennifer, Celia, and Penny worked on their mechanics and fundamentals.
