A couple of notes about Nicholl Park #2 for those who haven't played there before -- the field is mostly in the shade and it's windy in the afternoon so it gets cool there even on sunny days. It may be wise to wear long sleeves under your jersey if you get cold easily. Also, the sun will be in the faces of the right fielder and right-center fielder. Besides your cap (which I will deliver tomorrow), sunglasses are highly recommended. If you have them, bring them.
If you have family and friends coming to the game, urge them to dress for cool weather. As I divulged earlier, it gets pretty chilly there in the afternoon. I suggest they bring a warm jacket and maybe even a stadium blanket. Anyone who shows up in shorts and sandals is likely to be shivering and miserable.
Since most of mod squad's games were played there last season, I can attest that the left & left/center areas are also affected by the tall trees & leaves in the background. Outfielders make sure u pickup the ball from the crack of the bat because u can easily lose the ball in the path out of the trees!! GO BRICKS!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, on that field, it's probably better to play with white softballs. The optic green ones contrast with a blue sky and white clouds but not so much with trees.
